Dr. Phuong Nguyen, DMD

Dr. Phuong Nguyen’s journey in dentistry began when her family moved from Vietnam to California during her high school years. Inspired by her cousin, who was a dentist, she discovered a passion for helping others through compassionate, high-quality dental care.

Dr. Nguyen earned her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia in 2012. She began her career in Sacramento, California, where she practiced family and cosmetic dentistry, providing a full range of services with a focus on patient comfort and long-term oral health. In 2020, she moved to Maryland, where she continued to earn her patients’ trust through her gentle touch, attention to detail, and caring approach.

Dedicated to continuous learning, Dr. Nguyen regularly attends dental seminars and workshops to stay up to date with the latest innovations in modern dentistry. Her philosophy centers on honesty, empathy, and individualized care for every patient.

After relocating to Hawaii, Dr. Nguyen is excited to bring her experience and passion for dentistry to the Smile Dental Center team. She looks forward to serving the Waipahu community and helping patients of all ages achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Outside the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, working on DIY projects, hiking, and listening to music and podcasts.
