CEREC OMNICAM

No Temporary crowns or bridge.
No Messy Impressions.
One Easy Appointment.

Sirona’s CEREC Omnicam is an innovative ergonomic handpiece that ensures excellent intraoral access to all teeth—including posteriors—with ease and agility. The ColorStreaming feature allows continuous capture of dentition and displays the 3-D data in full color. Additionally, the system is powder-free, without sacrificing precision.

The CEREC Omnicam’s slim, rounded camera tube allows for easy rotation in the intraoral space, and the small camera tip ensures ideals lens positioning anywhere in the mouth. As the camera moves over teeth, a full-color 3-D model is displayed in full color with clarity and excellent detail. In the patient counseling mode, the clinician can record video clips to present to the patient. According to Sirona, there is no need to use a reflective medium, so capturing images is quick and easy.

Other features and benefits of CEREC Omnicam include: it records 2-D and 3-D data; captures half-arch and full-arch impressions with excellent speed; and provides a uniform field of illumination for increased precision.

Procedure

The procedure for placement of a CEREC restoration is very simple.  The first step is to remove all decay from the tooth.  The doctor will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture.  Once this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D.  This will allow the doctor to design the restoration right in front of you. Once the design is completed, the CEREC will mill the restoration.  This step takes approximately 15 minutes.  You can actually watch this process if you would like.  When the restoration is finished milling, the doctor will place the restoration.  The entire process should take just over an hour.
